Help us keep the Stevenson Lighthouse open...


A very sincere THANK YOU to all who have contributed to our appeal so far.

We are pleased to report that as of July 2021, all of the refurbishment work to the 164 year old lighthouse has been completed.

The walkway is one of only two original lighthouse walkways left in Scotland and without these repairs access would have been lost to this historic Thomas Stevenson designed structure.

According to Professor Paxton of Herriot-Watt University, this is apparently the longest remaining example of this kind of structure still in regular use in the UK.

 

The Trustees would like to hear from any individuals or companies who could possibly help with a financial donation, however large or small, towards the preservation of this iconic landmark. Any donation would attract gift aid as the Eilean Bàn Trust is a registered charity.

The Trust would also very much appreciate hearing from anyone who might be prepared to join the fundraising steering group and help manage the financial campaign.
